Over the past seven years, JHU alum Rachel Ballatori has spearheaded this annual event which has raised nearly $90,000 and has fully funded three research grants.
This year’s goal is to hit the $100K mark and officially donate the fourth full research grant to the Hopkins Sarcoma Program. The 8th Annual Stick it to Sarcoma Fall Play Day will take place on Sunday, October 7th, at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University with the Hopkins Women’s Lacrosse team. Sarcoma is one of the rarest and deadliest known cancers that affects bone, soft tissue, and muscle. It represents about 1% of the nearly 1.5 million new cancer diagnoses in the country each year, and takes the lives of 6,000 people every year.
