Faculty
Mentoring

The Whiting School of Engineering mentoring program builds collaborative learning relationships between undergraduate student mentees and faculty mentors through intentional engagement.

All Whiting School of Engineering undergraduates are matched with a faculty mentor to support their educational journey. First-year students are matched with a startup mentor who may mentor them for their entire undergraduate career. By a student’s second year, a student’s faculty mentor must be affiliated with the department of their primary major. A faculty mentor is an important member of a students’ flock who supports academic socialization within engineering.

The Whiting School of Engineering mentoring program builds collaborative learning relationships through intentional engagement. Faculty refine their mentoring skills through training and workshops. Student mentees receive support in navigating our engineering school, learning how to engage mentors along their engineering journey.
