Student Engagement

Students in the Whiting School of Engineering receive robust support not only in academics, but also in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. We prepare our undergraduates to become active members of a dynamic community of scholars and professionals, providing opportunities for educational travel and conference attendance. Student groups create spaces for creating lasting bonds between students with shared interests and identities.

Student Groups

At Johns Hopkins University, about 80 percent of students are involved in one or more of our 350+ student organizations. Joining a student group can enhance your college experience, help connect you to the Hopkins community, enhance your ability to lead, and build a stronger sense of school spirit .

Travel Funds

We are proud to provide financial support to Engineering students seeking to undertake engineering research, project, or service work abroad. Our students return from these international experiences with broadened worldviews and exciting ways of thinking, contributing to our collective shared knowledge and understanding of what it means to be an engineer today.

Events

Events on and off campus connect students to the larger engineering community. Undergraduates have the opportunity to showcase their research and design, celebrate the achievements of their field, and honor the accomplishments of their peers. Attending events provides students another opportunity to connect with JHU faculty and staff.
