Thi Vo, assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, is the recipient of a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award. Vo is one of 35 winners out of 167 applicants for the one-year, $5,000 award, the funds being matched by Johns Hopkins University. The award, sponsored by Oak Ridge Associated Universities, aims to assist young faculty members with research seed money.

Vo’s project, titled “Supramolecular engineering first principles driven sequence design of hybrid polymers,” is focused on filling critical gaps in the knowledge of macromolecular self-assembly. Vo’s lab plans to develop computational models that will simulate large-scale systems that will highlight the microscopic properties of polymers and design hybrid polymers with optimized properties.
