Four of our new PhD recruits won WSE graduate fellowships this year. Lucy Lin won the William H. Schwarz award dedicated to chemical engineering students. Hebben Desta won the Carl Heath Fellowship that supports graduate women in engineering. Janet Aiyedun was awarded the Suzanne and Joseph Jenniches Fellowship and Brent Ifemembi was selected for the Dean Robert H. Roy Fellowship. These winners reflect the strong diversity in our incoming PhD class, which is composed of 30% women and 30% from under-represented groups in engineering.
