Dr. Kimberly Stroka (Postdoctoral Researcher with Dr. Konstantopoulos) and Dr. Elizabeth Nance (former PhD Student of Dr. Hanes) recently won the prestigious Burroughs Wellcome Career Award at the Scientific Interface. In addition to prestige, awardees receive $500,000 in support, disbursed over five years.

In addition, Dr. Stephanie Fraley, a former PhD Student of Dr. Wirtz and current Hopkins Postdoctoral Fellow, has won the prestigious $500,000 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award at the Scientific Interface in 2013. This award, disbursed over 5 years, will fund her research on the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis as she transfers from postdoctoral work to her first faculty position.
