The Johns Hopkins University student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) was chartered in 1984 and serves as a connection between the department’s undergraduate students and their future in chemical engineering. AIChE JHU is an entirely student-run organization.
In the 2022-23 academic year AIChE JHU aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and community among ChemBE undergraduates. As an organization, we host a large variety of events to help our members advance socially and professionally. We offer Lunch & Learns with professors and social events to strengthen the ChemBE community. We host recruiter coffee chats and career workshops to inspire students to take advantage of industry opportunities. We also compete at the regional and national levels with our Chem E Car team, a group that designs and operates a car powered by innovative chemical reactions. Working with ChemBE CDI (Committee on Diversity and Inclusion), we offer diversity and inclusion initiatives and workshops to the greater Hopkins community. We hope to create an enjoyable environment that will enable our students to excel. We hope you look forward to what we have planned this year.
All students in the department already are a part of AIChE and are also welcome to participate in the creation, organization, and facilitation of all AIChE events this year.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact [email protected] or attend our general body meetings, which will be publicized on Instagram.
