Xinjie Yu, sophomore, was recently named a recipient of the Provost’s Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) for the summer cycle. The PURA program was created to assist and encourage undergraduate students to continue or begin independent research, scholarly, and creative projects with university mentors during the summer without curricular obligations inhibiting full-time effort.

Yu is a member of the Schulman Lab and is currently working on a project titled “Cell-free biosensor for TNF-α based on the aptamer-regulated transcription for in vitro sensing and transduction.”
