Congratulations to Asst. Prof. Jamie Spangler (ChemBE/BME) for winning a Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF) Discovery award. MSCRF has funded “the most cutting-edge companies and institutions engaging in the development of stem cell research and cures throughout the state of Maryland.”

The goal of the project is to develop an engineered growth factor ligand/receptor pair that will allow the selective cellular delivery of osteogenic cues to drive bone tissue regeneration. This approach could lead to a safe, effective, and sustainable new approach for bone transplants. It could be used to repair damage from injuries, accidents, and bone disorders.
