ChemBE is proud to announce the election of Professor Yannis Kevrekidis to the National Academy of Engineering; the formal conferral will be held on October 4-5, 2020. This career-defining honor celebrates his leadership in machine learning and in the intricacies of dynamical behavior over a broad set of processes, physico-chemical as well as biological processes. More recently, his work on “equation-free computation” is challenging computationalists to imagine a new frontier in which we operate outside the ‘safety net’ of equation-driven computation.
Kevrekidis’s research accomplishments have been recognized at Hopkins through the Bloomberg Distinguished Professorship in which he holds appointments in ChemBE, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and in the School of Medicine’s Department of Urology.
