Dr. Weinan Xu from the Gracias lab in ChemBE will be starting a faculty position at Akron University’s College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. Akron University has a long tradition of excellence in polymer science that dates back to 1910. Weinan received his PhD from Ga. Tech. in Chemical Engineering before joining the Gracias lab at Hopkins as a post-doc. His publications at Hopkins include 2019 papers in ACS Nano on soft 3D robots using hard 2D materials, and in Nano Letters on self-folding graphene skin for sensors, as well as a 2017 Science Advances paper on thermoresponsive folded 3D graphene.
