Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering senior lecturer Nagma Zerin and PhD candidates Donovan Vincent and Sanjiban Nath have been recognized with Awards for Excellence in Teaching, Advising, and Mentoring.

Zerin received the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to undergraduate education. Funded by the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association, the award recognized Zerin’s extraordinary dedication to the University’s teaching mission, exceptional performance in the classroom, and a continuing commitment to tomorrow’s leaders.

“Teaching is about creating an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to think critically,” says Zerin. “I’m honored to be recognized and grateful for the opportunity to work with such motivated and curious students.”

Vincent received the George M.L. Sommerman Engineering Graduate Teaching Assistant Award, and Nath was awarded the Whiting School of Engineering Teaching Assistant Excellence Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions as teaching assistants.

Each year, the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association and the Whiting School of Engineering honor faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate exceptional commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring. Award recipients are selected through a process that includes input from prior honorees and undergraduate students.
