Undergraduate Studies

Welcome to JHU

Johns Hopkins University is a community where undergrads explore, discover, and make an impact.

Freedom to Learn

“ECE at Hopkins does an amazing job of preparing an individual for the theoretical aspect of the field and gives you a foundation to pursue whichever concentrations you are interested in.” - Gabriel Giraldo-Wingler '16

Building for the Future

Our exciting new initiative–Building for Modernization–will take our remarkable department to new heights of excellence in student learning opportunities, collaborative research, and community engagement.

Electrical and computer engineers are the creators of many things taken for granted in our daily lives, from desktop computers to GPS systems and cell phones. At Johns Hopkins, students learn the fundamentals of electrical, computer and digital systems, data structures, and circuits, with an emphasis on hands-on experience to complement the theoretical.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers the following degree options for students interested in pursuing their undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University.

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
  • Bachelor of Arts

The BS degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering are accredited by the Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Students should be aware that the BA degree program is not accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
