Rong Li, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in the Whiting School of Engineering and in the School of Medicine’s Department of Cell Biology, has received the American Society for Cell Biology’s Sandra K. Masur Senior Leadership Award.

One of ASCB’s Women in Cell Biology Awards, this honor annually selects and recognizes a single researcher whose outstanding scientific achievements are coupled with a record of active leadership in mentoring others in their scientific careers.

Li, who directs the Center for Cell Dynamics, seeks to understand how eukaryotic cells perform dynamic processes in order to carry out specialized functions. Her work sheds light on devastating diseases, such as cancer and aging-related degenerative conditions.
