Katz Named to NAE

Joseph Katz, the William F. Ward Sr. Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering’s Class of 2019.

Katz was cited “for development of optical methods in experimental fluid mechanics for turbomachinery, cavitation, turbulence, and environmental flows.” The new class will be formally inducted during a ceremony at the NAE’s annual meeting in October in Washington, D.C.
