A Weekend to Remember

Winter 2009

A Weekend to Remember, October 3-5, 2008

Each year in the fall Johns Hopkins University hosts Leadership Weekend for all of the divisional alumni councils and boards, the University’s Alumni Council, and the university Trustees. The Whiting School’s National Advisory Council (NAC) and Society of Engineering Alumni (SEA) had several events throughout the weekend in conjunction with the university events. On Friday the SEA hosted an alumni-student picnic on the Engineering Quad which was very well attended-over 300 students and 50 alumni networked and enjoyed barbeque food while connecting on the quad. Friday evening many alumni from all divisions joined together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the University’s Alumni Council, the governing body for the Alumni Association.

On Saturday morning President Brody addressed the alumni for the last time before his retirement from Johns Hopkins. After the president’s talk each of the groups met to plan for the coming year, and that evening the SEA and NAC joined together for a relaxing evening on the Homewood campus at a dinner in the Glass Pavilion with entertainment by comedian Jeff Caldwell ’84.
