Jin Seob Kim is a senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, a member of the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics, and an adjunct faculty member in mechanical engineering in the Engineering for Professionals program. He has been teaching mechanical engineering courses that focus on dynamics, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

His research focuses on sensor-based modeling of flexible needles with optical sensors; computational modeling of biological systems including macromolecular assemblies; and application of non-commutative harmonic analysis to information fusion. He did postdoctoral work at the Johns Hopkins Institute for NanoBioTechnology, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Johns Hopkins University.

He received his bachelor’s and master’s in mechanical design and production engineering from Seoul National University, and a master’s and doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.
