Jin Seob Kim is a senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and an adjunct faculty member in mechanical engineering in the Engineering for Professionals program. His research focuses on sensor-based modeling of flexible needles with optical sensors; computational modeling of macromolecular assemblies; and allocation of non-commutative harmonic analysis to information fusion. He did postdoctoral work at Johns Hopkins Institute for NanoBioTechnology, at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and at the Johns Hopkins University.

He received his BS and an MS in Mechanical Design and Production Engineering at Seoul National University and an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University.
