The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering is a relatively small but diverse department, which makes it extremely easy to collaborate among ourselves on new ideas. The size also bring a very close relationship between faculty, students and staff.

The Johns Hopkins University Electrical & Computer Engineering Department has allowed me to develop the skills to accomplish research tasks independently. These include skills to understand and define a problem, ability to form collaboration, and the ability to learn new skills and knowledge. This knowledge has also allowed for me to take the advantage of research, and was already doing research with Dr. Ralph Etienne-Cummings as an undergraduate in the department. Professors at the department are extremely friendly and always open for new ideas. It was never a problem to just write an email and meet with them to discuss new ideas or tell them that you are want to work with them. Collaborative effort is very much supported in creation of innovative research.

The experience here has really broadened my perspective. Here, I get to work with the top researchers in their field. The research at JHU also allows me to form a variety of collaborations. In one of my projects, I have collaborated with the Digital Signal Processing lab within the department, as well as with the Neuroscience department in the School of Art and Sciences. For another project, I have collaborated with IMEC, a micro-electronics research company in Belgium. The network formed through collaboration will be extremely beneficial to my career.
