Olysha Magruder, director of learning design and faculty development for the Center for Learning Design and Technology, has been selected for a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award.

Fulbright Scholars from around the world are chosen not only for their academic and professional excellence, but also for their leadership potential, to teach, conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.

The title of Olysha’s project submission was “Beyond Surviving: Excelling in Online and Blended Teaching through Collaborative Partnerships after a Global Pandemic.” The project’s goal is to “develop and support opportunities for the faculty at Dublin City University and Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering to learn from each other about the best practices in online and blended teaching and learning, build a community of practice through a technology-enabled approach to collaboration, and share the resulting knowledge within the professional community.”

This opportunity will allow Olysha to live in Dublin in the spring of 2024.

The Center for Learning Design and Technology (CLDT), based in the Whiting School of Engineering, provides learning design, multimedia production, instructional technology, faculty development, and administrative support to faculty, staff, and students, across four campuses. CLDT creates learning experiences that incorporate research-supported practices in course design, content development, communication and interaction, and learning assessment. CLDT uses design, technology, and educational research to transform the future of learning.
