“We’re thrilled to partner with AIAA to advance education and innovation in the aerospace industry. This collaboration underscores Johns Hopkins University’s commitment to lifelong learning and workforce readiness while highlighting AIAA’s dedication to providing advanced, practical education that addresses real-world professional challenges.” — Paul Huckett, associate dean of Johns Hopkins Engineering Executive and Professional Education

Johns Hopkins Engineering Executive and Professional Education (EPE) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) entered into a partnership to upskill aerospace professionals in critical domains, including space systems.

This collaboration is especially timely as the aerospace sector faces rapidly evolving technical challenges and workforce skill needs.  Together, EPE and AIAA will create non-degree, non-credit courses that merge Johns Hopkins’ academic excellence and research depth with AIAA’s subject matter expertise and community reach.

The courses will be jointly developed, with EPE designing and delivering the academic content and AIAA providing industry expertise. Both organizations will collaborate to ensure the courses remain relevant and meet industry demands.

Initial offerings will focus on cutting-edge needs in space systems engineering and aerospace, including:

  • Fault Management and Autonomy: Improving Spacecraft Survivability
  • Spacecraft Rendezvous and Proximity Operations
  • Flight Software for Space Systems
  • Space Weather and Space Systems
  • Materials for Space Systems
  • Small Satellite Development and Experimentation

Course offerings will expand and adapt over time to meet the evolving needs of the aerospace workforce.
