Seventy people attended a meeting and networking event hosted on Tuesday evening by the Women of Whiting, an organization designed to provide professional guidance and support, as well as social events and networking opportunities, for women in master’s, PhD, postdoctoral, research scientist, and staff positions in the Whiting School of Engineering.
The event, part of National Engineers Week, aimed to bring graduate women together to network and discuss their experiences as women in engineering, along with the challenges of graduate school.
WOW will host a number of events in the spring, including a TED Talk viewing party, a happy hour, and speakers who will discuss empowering women in the workplace, networking and career search skills, and how to negotiate. For more information about upcoming events or to join WOW, contact Alexandra Sneider or Inez Lam.
