Iglesias has been recognized for his “contributions to control theory and systems biology.” Dr. Iglesias’ new standing of Fellow becomes effective on January 1, 2017.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Society’s highest grade of membership, the grade of Fellow is bestowed upon individuals who have made outstanding contributions to IEEE fields of interest.

The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. IEEE consists of more than 400,000 members in 160 countries, and the association’s members are leaders in fields including aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications, biomedical engineering, and electric power and consumer electronics.
