David Gracias, professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, has received the Bessel award from the Humboldt Foundation in Germany. The award is named after the renowned astronomer, scientist and mathematician Friedrich Bessel.
The award winners are selected based on their outstanding research record and expectations of future promise in continuing to produce cutting-edge achievements which will have a seminal influence on their discipline beyond their immediate field of work.
Award winners are also invited to conduct a research project of their own choice in Germany in close collaboration with fellow experts at a research institution in Germany.
