Jennifer DaileyJennifer Dailey, a graduate student in Dr. Howard Katz’s lab, was awarded a Croft Fellowship for the 2015-2016 academic year by the Johns Hopkins Environment, Energy, Sustainability & Health Institute. The award is made possible through a generous gift from Gordon Croft and aims to support doctoral students at Johns Hopkins University who are interested in environment, energy, and sustainability related areas.

The Fellowship will support Jennifer’s research into developing electrochemical sensors to detect pathogens and diseases resulting from environmental exposures. Sensor technology is a critical tool for detecting a wide range of medical conditions, including MRSA. While this particular project will focus on sensor technology to detect MRSA, the research aims to develop technology that can be deployed in multiple settings, such as for water quality assessment and bioaerosol monitoring.
