INBT’s New High-Tech Home

Spring 2011

hightechThe Whiting School’s New Engineering Building has been revamped to add 13,900 square feet of lab space. It now houses the Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT) and two new centers the INBT launched-the Engineering in Oncology Center and the Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence (CCNE).

Last fall, the INBT received a $13.6 million five-year grant from the National Cancer Institute to establish the CCNE , which brings together a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and physicians developing nanotechnology-based diagnostic platforms and strategies for comprehensive cancer care. The award complements the INBT’s earlier $14.8 million award to establish the Engineering in Oncology Center.
