Generations of students, colleagues, family, and friends gathered on the Homewood campus on Sunday, April 11, 2010, to celebrate the life of M. Gordon “Reds” Wolman. Some 500 assembled under a tent on the bright spring afternoon, where many spoke of the profound impact Reds had on the field of geomorphology, water resources management, the University, and, most of all, their lives.
The river stones pictured here, engraved with “Reds,” were distributed to guests who were asked to toss them into a river to scatter their memories and wishes in honor of Wolman. A limited number of “Reds” stones are available to our readers. You may request a “Reds” stone by emailing [email protected].
