Susanna Thon, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and associate director of the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI), is playing a key role in advancing the institute’s mission to expand opportunities in the sustainable energy field. Thon will lead a new initiative, funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site grant awarded to ROSEI, which will launch next summer. The Research on Sustainable Energy Technology and Systems (ROSETAS) program will bring 10 undergraduate students from across the U.S. to Hopkins for a 10-week immersive research experience focused on sustainable energy systems and technology.
