Startup co-founded by ECE alum launches "hotword detection" toolkit

Snowboy

KITT.AI–a startup co-founded by Xuchen Yao (CS PhD ’14) and Guoguo Chen (ECE PhD ’16)–has unveiled a software toolkit that will allow developers to add verbal “hotword detection” to devices, GeekWire reports. The toolkit, called Snowboy, will let users talk to devices in order to wake them or command them to do something.
