Johns Hopkins engineer Michael I. Miller has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, one of the world’s largest general scientific societies.
Miller, director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, co-director of the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute, and a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is recognized for his work in computational medicine. His research develops advanced tools to analyze brain imaging data, enabling the early prediction of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and schizophrenia, often years before symptoms appear.
He is one of 449 scholars elected to the 2025 class of AAAS Fellows, an honor recognizing significant contributions to science and society.
