At this year’s International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), ECE team of graduate students Martin Villemur (visiting student from Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina) and Tomas Figliolia working with professors Pedro Julian and Andreas G. Andreou won the 2018 Best Paper Award in the Neural Systems and Applications Technical Committee for their paper titled Neuromorphic Cellular Neural Network Processor for Intelligent Internet-of-Things. Their paper ppresented thearchitecture design and testing of an embedded CMOS processor for visual processing with a performance of 3 Terra OPS /Watt. The work was supported by DARPA program UPSIDE.
