ECE Ph.D. Candidate Ebuka Arinze was awarded one of twelve Microsoft Dissertation Grants for his dissertation entitled, Nanoengineering for Tunable Energy-Efficient Optoelectronics. This is the first year for the Dissertation Grant and the program received 200 applicants for a variety of topics, including AI, robotics, hardware, cryptography, information visualization, systems, networking, and human-computer interaction among others.
Ebuka joined the ECE department in 2013 and has been working with Professor Susanna Thon in her NanoEnergy Laboratory.
