Jerry Prince, the William B. Kouwenhoven Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Whiting School of Engineering and a core faculty member of the Johns Hopkins Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI), has received a 2025 DSAI Demonstration Projects grant for his project, “Unique White Matter Lesion Tracking Algorithm as a Community Resource for Neurological Disorders.”

Developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins neurology faculty, the project will deliver an AI-powered resource to support clinicians and researchers working on neurological disorders.

DSAI’s Demonstration Projects program supports long-term, high-impact efforts that translate scientific innovation into practical solutions.

“This program exemplifies our strong commitment to accelerating the integration of data science and AI tools into essential applications,” said Natalia Trayanova, director of health and medicine at DSAI and Murray B. Sachs Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Prince’s project is one of two selected for the 2025 awards, which recognize research with the potential to improve human health through interdisciplinary collaboration.
