
Botong Qiu, a PhD candidate studying under Professor Susanna Thon, has been awarded $500 in travel funds to attend the 2018 Topical Group on Energy Research and Applications (GERA) Workshop. This annual event takes place on the Sunday before the American Physical Society (APS) March Meeting. The theme for this year’s workshop is “The Future of Sustainable Approaches to Energy” and during the workshop, there will be talks, panel discussions, and a special reception sponsored by the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy.
Botong will be attending the workshop as a representative of the NanoEnergy Laboratory of ECE and is excited to have the opportunity to meet experts and join discussions about the latest energy research. Botong will also have the opportunity to give a research talk titled “Optimized Multi-layer Interference for Color-tuned and Transparent Colloidal Quantum Dot Solar Cells” during the “Recent Advances in Solar Photovoltaics” session of the 2018 APS March Meeting.
