The National Science Foundation’s Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer Our Future (DMREF) grant aligns with national priorities for advanced manufacturing and future industries, national defense and homeland security, information technologies and high performance computing, human health and welfare, clean energy, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The research is a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University.

Whiting School faculty involved in the project include:

  • Thao “Vicky” Nguyen, associate professor,
  • Kevin Hemker, Alonzo G. Decker Chair in Mechanical Engineering, and
  • Sung Hoon Kang, assistant professor.
