The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University wishes you and your family and friends a joyous holiday season!

It has been an eventful and successful year for our faculty, alumni, and students. Our faculty continue to shine as exceptional researchers in materials science and engineering, consistently being named on the highly cited researchers list, receiving fellowship honors, and by publishing highly regarded papers. Our students help bring awareness of the department through community outreach programs and practical and accessible engineering classes. This year also marked the introduction of the INBT Co-Op that was designed to bring together different engineering disciplines to help solve problems in nanobiotechnology and medicine. Finally, on a somber note, we want to mark the passing of Profs. Robert Cammarata and Ted Poehler, and remember their deep contributions to the department and the university.

With the support of our alumni and friends, we are poised and committed to advance our school, our university, and the field of engineering in innovative and exciting ways. Your gift will enable us to continue our groundbreaking research, provide additional support and experiences for our students, and facilitate collaborations across the university.

Sincerely,

Jonah Erlebacher
