An image developed through a collaboration between Martin Ulmschneider, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and researchers from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford is featured on the June 5, 2014, issue of Nature.
The team developed “a new ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS) method that enabled them to obtain mass spectra of folded protein conformations bound to lipids.” The cover image depicts IM-MS capturing “a native membrane protein complex emerging from an ion mobility cell.”
