Orla Wilson is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, whose primary research interests lie in nanomaterials and optical properties.
Wilson has received numerous awards, including the George E. Owen Teaching Award (2019), the ABET IDEAL Scholar (2019), and the Capers and Marion McDonald Award for Excellence in Mentoring and Advising (2017).
She earned her BS and MS from Dublin City University, Ireland in 1993 and 1997 before completing her Ph.D. in 2005 at Texas A&M University.
