Crossing Boundaries: Characterizing Polycrystalline Materials

A collaborative effort between researchers in the United States and Italy has resulted in a novel technique to rapidly assess the boundaries between grains in polycrystalline materials. The team’s findings were reported in Nature Computational Materials.

Jonah Erlebacher, professor and department chair, and Ian McCue (PhD ’16) contributed to the research.
