This week, Prof. Thomas Gernay and Prof. Jean-Marc Franssen (University of Liège), held the first training for their software, SAFIR, in the United States.
SAFIR is a computer program that models the behavior of building structures subjected to fire, is currently used by more than 200 institutions worldwide, including universities, research centres and design offices. Developed by both professors while at the University of Liège, this is the inaugural U.S. based training for the software. Participants in the workshop included members from NIST, Thornton Tomasetti, SGH, Underwriters Laboratories, Howe Engineers, and Ghent University.
