Somnath Ghosh, the Michael G. Callas Chair Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, was recently elected as Fellow of the Society of Engineering Science (SES).

Per the SES website, “A fellow shall be an individual who is distinguished in some field in which the Society has interest, who has been a Regular or Life Member of the Society for at least five years, and whose contributions to the Society and the technical community have justified this honor.”

Ghosh’s selection was unanimously approved by the SES Board of Directors. He will be honored during the 2019 SES Conference during the banquet portion of the program.

Ghosh is the director of the Computational Mechanics Research Laboratory and the Center for Integrated Structure-Materials Modeling and Simulations within the Department of Civil Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
