The STEM Academy utilized the Engineering Adventures (grade 5) and Engineering Everywhere (grades 6-8) curricula offered through the Museum of Science, Boston. To learn more about each of the engineering units, visit www.eie.org.
Student Work
Middle school students worked with Media Rhythm Institute (IRead, IRhyme and Channel Me Media) to develop and produce videos that express student viewpoints on a variety of social topics.
Food Desert (6th Grade Project – Media Rhythm Institute) - These student-led, media arts productions were offered as an arts integration enrichment block at Barclay Summer STEM Academy.
Food Desert (7th & 8th Grade Project - Media Rhythm Institute) - 7th & 8th graders rap about food deserts, supported by Media Rhythm Institute, to develop and produce music videos to express student viewpoints.
BMore Green TV - Student-led interviews with farmers, scientists, and other environmentalists about sustainable efforts and food production in Barclay’s backyard.
BMore Green (Music Video) - Barclay students hit the recording studio to teach others about ways to BMore green.
