The PinPoint

Project Description:

PinPoint is a disposable, point-of-care device that enables rapid collection, separation, and stabilization of high-quality blood components outside centralized laboratories. Designed to address a critical gap in decentralized healthcare, PinPoint integrates a microneedle-based extraction system with a vacuum chamber and membrane filtration to generate lab-grade plasma within minutes. By eliminating the need for centrifugation and reducing reliance on trained personnel, the device minimizes sample failure, redraws, and delays in clinical workflows. PinPoint is particularly suited for clinical trials, point-of-care diagnostics, and remote healthcare settings where timely and reliable sample processing is essential. Its scalable, low-cost manufacturing design supports high-volume production, making it both economically viable and widely accessible. By standardizing pre-analytical blood processing at the point of collection, PinPoint improves data quality, reduces operational costs, and expands access to critical diagnostic information.
