ASCE Sustainable Solutions Design Team 2026: The Information Oasis Data Center

Project Description:

The ASCE Sustainable Solutions Competition is a nationwide civil engineering competition where student teams design solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. This year, teams were tasked with proposing a new data center for a fictional city, focusing on energy-efficient cooling, fire safety, reliable power, and community impact. Our team developed the “Information Oasis,” a design that emphasizes system reliability while giving resources back to the surrounding community. We ultimately placed first at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium, advancing to the national finals.
