Improving Transit for City School Students

Project Description:

Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) students who need public transit do not currently have options which are fast or reliable. Neither the Maryland Transport Administration (MTA) nor City Schools have direct responsibility for a student transit system, leaving students, parents, teachers, and Baltimore residents unsure who will handle the issue. Our aim is to adapt current bus routes to be simpler with fewer transfers, thereby increasing reliability for students. If achieved, first-period attendance should improve, leading to higher grades and fewer high school transfers.
