Adaptive Disc Golf Launcher for Disabled Veterans
- Program: Center for Leadership Education
- Course: EN.660.346 Multidisciplinary Engineering Design 2
- Year: 2026
Project Description:
We were tasked with creating an adaptive disc launcher for veterans with partial quadriplegia. Our device has the capacity to launch a disc over 100 feet and has been proven to be accessible for our end user. In the course of the past 2 years we have gone through multiple rounds of user testing and have now designed a device that meets all our requirements. The device is similar to a pitching machine with a dial that adjusts the speed to give precise launching capabilities and can be attached to wheel chairs.

Disc Launcher that has been adapted for veterans with partial quadriplegia. A frisbee launcher was modified for accessibility, performance, and power by replacing all electronics and adding accessible controls. The disc is fed through the front side closest to the wheelchair and launched forward out the other side by an internal spinning wheel.
