Project Description:
Proposed changes to European Standards for operator safety have led to Stanley Black and Decker’s (SBD) reexamination of their power tools’ dust production and circulation. The device detailed in this report will track the flow of respirable particles that come out of power tools and into the nasal area of the tool’s operator. The microscopic scale of the dust particles combined with the wide area of interest make imaging this flow a uniquely challenging task not seen before in the world of particle/flow imaging.
