Project Description:
The Batter Flashcard widget is a cognitively-optimized tactical system for strategy decision making. Using the wealth of information resulting in baseball’s data revolution, we tackle the challenge of extracting actionable insights in pre-game preparations. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) utilizes the SLUGGER tracking system, which generates comprehensive pitch-by-pitch records for every game. For coaching staffs preparing game plans—often with limited time between games—the technical barrier between raw data and usable intelligence remains high. This project addresses that gap by developing an end-to-end solution that automatically retrieves, processes, analyzes, and visualizes pitch data in a format specifically designed for rapid tactical decision-making.
