Project Description:
Corrosion of aluminum alloys is a problem that poses significant financial and safety risks to the aviation sector. Current state-of-the-market chromate coatings, while effective, are highly carcinogenic. Given these risks, there is significant demand for a coating that outperforms current market coatings in longevity, safety, and environmental impact. Our product, Ze[r]osion, is an advanced coating which releases molybdates loaded in zeolites to active corrosion sites on the aluminum substrate. This doubles the lifespan of the coating while significantly reducing toxicity to workers.
