SoberSense

Project Description:

Young adults are becoming more conscious of their alcohol consumption across the nation. SoberSense is a novel blood alcohol content (BAC) monitoring device which uses sweat to constantly detect BAC with 99% accuracy, allowing users to track the effects of alcohol consumption. The device uses a two-step process to report the BAC of an individual: iontophoresis to induce sweat and amperometry to detect alcohol concentration in sweat. The BAC is continuously measured, and these measurements are then transmitted via Bluetooth to the SoberSense app within 5 minutes. Within the app, users can track BAC over time, share their real-time BAC with friends, and set automatic actions if a certain BAC is reached, such as texting an emergency contact or ordering a rideshare home. SoberSense is the future of responsible alcohol consumption.
