Nicolas Charon receives NSF Career Award
Congratulations Nicolas. Assistance Professor Nicolas Charon is a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Early CAREER Award.
Nicolas’s research focuses on shape analysis and its applications to medical imaging and computational anatomy. His five-year CAREER award will support his project, “Shape Analysis in Submanifold Spaces: New Directions for Theory and Algorithms,” which will investigate ways to bridge several gaps in our knowledge of shape comparison and registration frameworks, both on the mathematical and computational sides, and develop new scalable morphological analysis algorithms adapted to the growing size and complexity of modern datasets.
